The Verdict:
Dirty Laundry is an eclectic bar and eatery serving up nothing but good times on Quay Street. Situated Downtown, the bar is the latest watering hole from Good Group—the team behind White + Wongs and Botswana Butchery—and it’s turning heads for all the right reasons.
The menu invites you to get down and dirty with a selection of nibbles, small and large plates, salads and dessert. Serving premium quality fare in a relaxed setting, it has a little something for everyone. Our top pick is the BBQ pork ribs—smokey, tangy and tender, the ribs are dripping with drool-worthy marinade and will leave your tastebuds buzzing. Served with barbecue sauce and slaw, they’re certainly worth the mess.
While you’re at it, tuck into the crispy chicken. Dark, golden and irresistibly crunchy, the house-made ranch dressing and chilli jam really steals the show. You’ll seriously ask why you’ve never considered eating chicken like it before.
More into your surf than turf? Then Dirty Laundry’s fish tacos are for you. The generous three-taco serving keeps things simple, with battered fish, avocado, sour cream and chilli, however, we recommend pairing them with the heirloom tomatoes, tossed with buffalo cheese and pine nuts on slaw for a real taste explosion.
With all this grub, you’ve got to wash it down, so order one of their cocktail creations like Ciao Bella, which contains 1800 Anejo, Chambord, Limoncello and raspberry, garnished with florals creating pink perfection, or, for something different, try the Dirty Navy. Featuring Gosling black seal, Havana Club Anejo, passionfruit, honey and fruits, you'll find yourself quickly ordering round two.
What’s more, Dirty Laundry have you covered every night of the week with their epic daily deals. We’re talking Monday Wine Night (think cracking wines and small prices), two-for-one Taco Tuesdays, champagne and a grazing board for Date Night Wednesdays, craft beers and whiskey flights for Lads Night Thursdays, $12 cocktails for Ladies Night Fridays, and $12 Margarita Madness Saturdays. The Happiest Hour is on from 5-7pm daily and selected drinks are $8, or you can snag yourself brunch, a Bloody Mary and a coffee for $30 for their Soft Landing Weekends deal. Don’t miss a beat and keep up to date with their latest deals here.
So, what are you waiting for? Round up the gang and head on down to Dirty Laundry for a feast you’ll never forget.

Bistro Saine
Wander down the cobblestones of Saint Patrick’s Square and you might happen upon the luxurious first floor of newly-built Hotel Indigo, housed in a restored heritage building. You can enter through the other side too—the Albert Street entrance blending into the concrete jungle as if it was always there (just look for the elegant Bistro Saine font out front).
Takapuna Surf Club
When you hear the words surf club, what comes to mind? I think of ice cream, pizza, and Alf Stewart (I haven't watched Home & Away in years, but I understand the Summer Bay Surf Club is still standing. Poor old Mr. Stewart, I'm not so sure).
