The Verdict
Known for some of the best contemporary Japanese fare in town is Ebisu, a funky restaurant on Britomart's Quay Street. Ebisu’s teriyaki chicken, seared sirloin steak or daily market fish bento boxes are always a hit during lunch, loaded with karaage chicken, tuna sashimi salad, perfectly pickled pickles, and the obligatory miso soup. For dinner, crispy soft shell crab is an absolute must, and the miso glazed eggplant will rock your world.
