The Verdict:

Health Nut Kitchen is an inner-city eatery blurring the line between health and fast food. In a mission to bring their customers real food, the team creates the meals from nutritious, locally sourced ingredients right in front of their guests. With a bike nailed to the wall behind the counter, it’s easy to see that this business is all about a healthy lifestyle. The entire menu is vegetarian, with a large portion of it vegan and wheat free. What’s more, all you dairy free folk will be stoked to know that Health Nut serve coffee with both soy and almond milk!

Sumi

It’s a Tuesday night in Auckland city but you’d easily mistake it for the weekend at Sumi. The new izakaya spot by owner-chef Jason Lee (Wakuwaku, Katsu Katsu, Tsuru Tsuru) in City Works Depot is humming.

Cafes

Kinfolk

Funny that the first thing I noticed about Kinfolk had little to do with the actual food—rather, it was the artwork on the back wall depicting three women on lilos, eating pasta. I like this place already, had been my immediate thought.
