The Verdict
For a well-deserved island escape, look no further than Ponsonby newcomer Lei. With a nod to the suburb's roots, the family-run cafe showcases the flavours of the Pacific Islands.
You'll find the likes of Fijian chicken curry, creamy coconut porridge and Poly toast—a mouth-watering island twist on French toast. The cafe itself has homely vibes, with family portraits proudly on display alongside an Insta-worth mural by local artist, Flox. A visit here will have you on island time in no time.
