The Verdict
Takapuna’s modern Asian restaurant Madam Woo is worth making a trip across the bridge for. The restaurant takes inspiration from Chinese and Malaysian street food, and is run by none other than Josh Emett and his business partner Fleur Caulton. No visit to Madam Woo is complete without trying a hawker roll—a crisp and buttery roti topped with one of four fillings. There’s always room for dessert and we can’t go past Madam Woo’s crispy fried banana served with ginger ice cream. Yes, please!
