The Verdict
Celeb chef Nic Watt was on to the good thing when he opened MASU Japanese bar and restaurant in the Federal Street dining precinct. At the heart of MASU is a robata grill. Here, the contemporary Japanese dishes are cooked in a traditional style over the hot coals of the grill and served up right before your eyes. The menu includes a selection of smaller dishes designed to be shared with mates and dates. You can’t leave MASU without trying the highly praised lamb cutlets with gochujang hot pepper, pickled onions and carrot. Trust us on this one.
