Fancy a fun yet relaxed evening with friends? Sammy’s Lounge, located in Auckland's SKYCITY, has got you covered with soul music, retro vibes and a well-stocked liquor cabinet. If you're in a jazz club mood, get ready to travel to Greenwich Village in the 60s for an evening out with a twist.

Hit up Sammy’s Lounge Wednesday to Saturday for awesome LIVE music with everything from 70's funk and RnB to their legendary DIVAS performance. Don your Mad Men-inspired outfit, round up the crew and venture through the lights and buzz of the casino. After taking in the colourful surrounds, sidle in to one of the large velvet booths. Get comfy and chill with your friends, chatting against the backdrop of stellar singers and piano ballads.

Order a Glenfiddich on the rocks and you’ll be sussed for the night. If you’re feeling the party vibes, amp it up to a Pina Colada or champers (or both). Don’t forget to stock up on the scchhnaaccks, with everything from small bites, big bites and sweet treats on offer.

The succulent Cubano pork is calling your name, accompanied with the perfect trio of swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. Alternatively, you can’t go wrong with a bowl of crispy harissa cauliflower bites and yoghurt dipping sauce.

Feeling a bit more peckish? Upgrade to your choice of bar classics including the pulled pork sliders with coleslaw to the steak and chips, green salad and chimichurri. Make sure to save some room for the freshly fried churros and chocolate dipping sauce.

This is what dinner and a show is really about.

To enter Sammy’s Lounge you must be over 21, so have your I.D at the ready people.

Bistro Saine

Wander down the cobblestones of Saint Patrick’s Square and you might happen upon the luxurious first floor of newly-built Hotel Indigo, housed in a restored heritage building. You can enter through the other side too—the Albert Street entrance blending into the concrete jungle as if it was always there (just look for the elegant Bistro Saine font out front).

Takapuna Surf Club

When you hear the words surf club, what comes to mind? I think of ice cream, pizza, and Alf Stewart (I haven't watched Home & Away in years, but I understand the Summer Bay Surf Club is still standing. Poor old Mr. Stewart, I'm not so sure).
