The Engine Room
The Verdict
This Northcote Point bistro is an institution, far away from the busy Auckland city. Sitting on a corner on Queen Street (Northcote, not CBD), The Engine Room hums away with the noise of its patrons devouring twice-baked goats cheese soufflé, veal schnitzel, and duck confit, among other irresistible items. The service is sharp and friendly—the kind when you’ll never find your water empty and any indecision will be put to rest by their willing menu advice. So listen to them when they suggest the profiteroles.
