The Verdict
Hidden in Auckland CBD is The Kimchi Project, a Korean-inspired restaurant and cafe with innovative food and one heck of a courtyard. Perch yourself at a sun-drenched table and tuck into The Kimchi's Project delicious menu. For brekkie and brunch there's chicken and prawn dumpling with house made soy cream and seasonal mushies, kimchi waffle fries, and Asian-style bruschetta. The bao buns are fluffy pillows of happiness (think pulled pork, tempura chicken and soft shell crab) and come dinner time, you can feast on sweet and soy short ribs, beef tartare and kimchi fried rice. Just be sure to leave room for the matcha tiramisu!

Bistro Saine
Wander down the cobblestones of Saint Patrick’s Square and you might happen upon the luxurious first floor of newly-built Hotel Indigo, housed in a restored heritage building. You can enter through the other side too—the Albert Street entrance blending into the concrete jungle as if it was always there (just look for the elegant Bistro Saine font out front).
Takapuna Surf Club
When you hear the words surf club, what comes to mind? I think of ice cream, pizza, and Alf Stewart (I haven't watched Home & Away in years, but I understand the Summer Bay Surf Club is still standing. Poor old Mr. Stewart, I'm not so sure).
