The Verdict
Head to New Lynn and you’ll find one of the coolest cafes in Auckland. Complete with concrete floors and a high ceiling, The Tannery is a joint venture between Mt Atkinson Coffee and Kohu Road Ice Cream with a menu of bagels, freshly made slices and sweet treats, great coffee and our favourite item, affogato. On the bagel front there is New York (gruyere, pastrami, hot mustard and cornichons), S’mores and the 12-hour slow cooked BBQ brisket with chipotle sauce and apple slaw—all of which come served on wooded boards.
