Spring has finally sprung in Sydney/Eora, and we couldn’t be more keen to work our way through all the city’s best hangout spots.
Whether you're chasing a cheeky happy hour, a free midweek activity or a weekend feast worthy of rounding up the crew, Applejack Hospitality has something special lined up for every day of the week.
Here’s your day-by-day guide to eating, drinking and hanging in Sydney this spring:
SoCal
1 Young Street, Neutral Bay
For a midweek Mexican fix, make tracks straight to the light-filled and breezy SoCal. Taco Tuesday drops tacos to just $4.50 a pop from 5pm ‘til late (minimum four tacos per person). Load up on baja fish, crispy fried chicken, pork belly, short rib, and veggie winners like zucchini and fried eggplant.
Wash it down with $15 margaritas all night long, or hit happy hour between 5pm to 6.30pm for $14 cocktail slushies, $7 house beers and $7 house wine.
By Friday, it's a full-on Bottomless Fajita fiesta. For $40 per person, you’ll score never-ending sizzling platters piled high with cumin-marinated steak or tofu, warm flour tortillas, grilled peppers, onions, salsa, jalapeños, refried beans, sour cream and fries—the ultimate weekend starter pack.
The Botanist
17 Willoughby Street, Kirribilli
Waiting on a leafy Kirribilli corner, The Botanist is a neighbourhood gem with a stacked lunch offer. The Swift Spread is a $65pp set menu built to be devoured in under an hour, without feeling rushed.
Warm sourdough, olives and hummus kick things off, followed by a choice of sugarloaf cabbage pancake, harissa-roasted chook or creste pasta with pork and fennel sausage, rounded out with a side salad and hot chips. Available Wednesday to Friday, from 12pm to 2.30pm (minimum two people).
Bopp & Tone
60 Carrington Street, Sydney CBD
Swish CBD restaurant, Bopp & Tone, serves one of Sydney’s best bottomless lunches. Soul Saturdays marries a premium banquet with a live band’s soul tunes and flowing drinks.
Think tuna tartare, stuffed zucchini flowers, grilled king prawns, Angus flank steak and more, paired with bottomless bubbles, mimosas, house wine and beers for $130 per person, Taittinger Champagne for $195 per person or non-alcoholic beverages for $110 per person. Available on Saturdays between 12pm and 2:45pm (minimum two people).
Taphouse
122 Flinders Street, Darlinghurst
Darlinghurst’s beloved boozer packs the calendar. A slurp-worthy Noodle Night takes over on Mondays from 4pm with Young Henrys pints for schooner prices, followed by Trivia Night on Tuesdays from 7.30pm with major bar tab prizes.
Hump day is rung in with Hawke Chop Wednesdays, aka pork chops from $16 and $6 Hawke’s beers, plus dazzling Drag Bingo every first and third Wednesday of the month.
Chase The Ace turns Thursdays into a jackpot where every drink purchased between 6pm to 8pm scores raffle entries to find the Ace of Spades and win a climbing cash prize. Pro tip: Grifter Pale Ales secure extra entries.
Fridays hit a high note with Karaoke Night from 9pm, before the week closes out with Sunday Shenanigans, a stacked Irish-Chinese banquet for just $34 per person, available all day. Add the cult-fave Spice Bag and thank us later.
Oh, and Happy Hour runs Monday through Friday, 4pm to 6pm with $7.50 drinks, perfect for doubling down on Taphouse’s weekday dining offers.
Forrester's
336 Riley Street, Surry Hills
This favourite Surry Hills’ pub is super dog-friendly and home to The Big Yorkie: a giant Yorkshire pudding filled with a roast of the week and all the trimmings—gravy, roast potatoes, peas, and glazed carrots—for just $35, or upgrade to roast lamb shoulder with tomato chutney for an extra $8.
Plus, for those looking to impress further there's the bottomless lunch stacked with two hours of bottomless spritz, lamb kofta, hummus and fritter to fill up on.
There’s also fun events on all the time like Pitch Your Friend, where a wingperson has five minutes to pitch their bestie to a crowd of singles. The next event is on Thursday 25 September from 7.30pm. View all the details and reserve a free spot online.
The Butler
123 Victoria Street, Potts Point
Boasting knockout views of Sydney’s skyline, The Butler’s breezy terrace is prime territory for soaking up the sun over a modern Mexican long lunch. The eight-dish banquet comes with two hours of bottomless bubbles, wine, beer and cocktails—available for groups of four or more, Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 3pm.
Rolling in later? Golden Hour is on every day but Saturday, offering $14 margaritas, $8 wines and $8 beers. And if you’re not ready to call it, duck downstairs to Juantina’s Bar to keep snacking and sipping.
RAFI North Sydney
99 Mount Street, North Sydney
RAFI’s Happy Hour has to be one of the best in Sydney: beers and wines are just $8, and cocktails, including Aperol Spritzes, Fragola Fizz and Margaritas, will only set you back $16—practically unheard of in this economy.
Plus, there’s a seriously affordable food menu featuring $12 crispy sourdough pizzas with chilli miso prawn and classic margherita toppings, alongside a $15 cheeseburger loaded with RAFI’s special sauce, dill pickles and onions between a golden potato bun. Available Monday to Saturday at RAFI North Sydney and Monday to Sunday at RAFI URBNSURF.
URBNSURF
15 Hill Road, Sydney Olympic Park
URBNSURF is Sydney’s biggest man-made wave surf park, perfect for riding ocean-like pearlers before diving into surfside dining.
At RAFI URBNSURF, Executive Chef Matias Cillóniz’s menu leans heavier into seafood than the North Sydney outpost—you’re by the water, after all. There’s Sydney rock oysters, South Coast tuna, Ōra King salmon and grilled octopus on the lineup, as well as premium meat and veggie share-style dishes.
Flex on your mates by celebrating an event at their Surf Suites, a private dining space with epic water views.
Sandy's
15 Hill Rd, Sydney Olympic Park
Or, for a more casual vibe when impressing a larger crew, cruise into Sandy’s. A laid-back, all-day eatery serving breakfast through dinner alongside refreshing drinks to quench that post-surf thirst.
