KFC Is Giving Away Free Chicken—But Only If Your Name Is Duncan
File this under: oddly specific perks we wish we qualified for.
KFC is launching a brand-new dunking sauce called Liquid Gold—rich, creamy and finished with a subtle peppery kick—and instead of a standard rollout, they’re doing things a little differently. On Monday 23 March, anyone with the name Duncan (first, middle or last) can get their hands on it for free, alongside KFC’s Original Tenders or Wicked Boneless. All you need to do is show valid ID.
In Sydney, things are getting even more chaotic. KFC is hosting what it hopes will be the largest gathering of people named Duncan at its George Street restaurant from 12pm to 2pm, shouting free chicken and sauce while attempting to set a record in the process. Yes, it’s niche. Yes, it’s ridiculous. And yes, we kind of love it.
The stunt is all in honour of KFC’s new Liquid Gold sauce, designed specifically for dunking—we'll let you form the link. It’s also the biggest sauce KFC Australia has ever released, served in a tub the same size as its iconic Potato and Gravy, so you can go all in.
If you’re not part of the demographic, you won’t have to wait long. Liquid Gold lands in KFC restaurants nationwide from Tuesday 24 March until Monday 13 April, available on its own for $3 or bundled into a range of meals. Until then, it might be time to check your birth certificate—or call up your nearest Duncan.
