Everything You Need To Know About The Immersive Art And Whisky Pop-Up Hitting Sydney This Weekend

By Morgan Reardon

Attention: culture-seekers, art-buffs and tipple-lovers, clear your calendars because we’ve got the inside word on a series of immersive pop-up hitting the city that merges sustainability, awe-inspiring art and one of our fave spirits. Yep, it’s a guaranteed good time and you’re going to want to check it out.

From now until 8 May, you’re invited to the Glenfiddich x Jordan Gogos Pop-Up Bar, a multi-sensory experience like no other. Taking place in Sydney’s CBD, over three massive weeks, you’ll get the chance to step inside the technicolour universe of Australian multidisciplinary artist Jordan Gogos, whose thought-provoking work explores the intersection between design and the environment.

Joining forces with Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, the powerhouse duo will deliver a series of immersive ticketed experiences hosted by artist-driven social enterprise, ART AID—but more on that later.

Blurring the lines between gallery space and immersive sensory experience, the pop-up–which is open to the public—will feature a showcase of unseen works from Gogos’ incredible collection, spanning art, furniture and fashion. There will even be artworks inspired by the colourways of Glenfiddich, as well as immersive pieces that allow visitors the chance to become a part of Gogos’ sustainability-focused masterpieces.

While you’re marvelling at the explosions of colour, texture and space, you’ll sip delicious whisky cocktails crafted by legendary mixologist gurus from Dean & Nancy on 22. Even better, for each cocktail sold, Glenfiddich will donate $10 to ART AID charities including the Bali Life Foundation and Batyr, dedicated to improving youth mental health in Australia. So, you can sip and celebrate knowing your tipple is helping to fund incredible causes.

But it’s not *just* the gallery experience—which is Gogos’ largest installation to date—that you can enjoy, because Glenfiddich is throwing a bunch of epic ticketed events you’ll want to pop in your cal.

There’s the Glenfiddich Trailblazer Party from 5pm on Fridays, where you’ll get to rub shoulders with creatives, change makers and idea pioneers while tasting your way through Dean & Nancy on 22’s one-off cocktail creations. Think: the Orchard Spritz (Glenfiddich 12, amaro nonino, earl grey, lemongrass, rose, figs and citrus), or our personal fave, Midnight Lights made with Glenfiddich 21, Suze, mango, ginger, pink peppercorn and bitters.

Spirit aficionados will want to snag a seat at the Glenfiddich Whisky Master Classes hosted by brand ambassador Ross Blainey on 1, 2, 7 and 8 May. You’ll be guided through a tasting of four delicious single malts (plus a cheese board to snack on), while Blainey regales you with the history and culture behind the spirit.

Finally, you can’t miss Glenfiddich and Jordon Gogos on Creative Collaborations on 2 May. Your ticket will score you access to Gogos’ brilliant mind as he reveals how he approaches art and fashion and what you can expect from his upcoming 2024 Australian Fashion Week Show. While you’re being inspired, you’ll get to sip a selection of Glenfiddich whisky (including a 21-year-old Gran Reserva), plus you’ll score an engraved bottle of Glenfiddich 12YO, personalised on-site and exclusive Jordan Gogos art keyring inspired by the Glenfiddich 12YO. As with the cocktail purchases, $10 of each event ticket sold will go to charity. Head here to grab a ticket now.

Want to take a piece of the pop-up home with you? There will be a selection of items available for purchase with a whopping 50% of proceeds being donated to ART AID charities. We dig that!
