Think You’ve Mastered The Dad Stance? You Can Help Break A Guinness World Record In Sydney This Week
If you don’t have any weekend plans just yet, here’s a chance to make sporting history without breaking a sweat. Home robotics brand ECOVACS is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the most people performing the Dad Stance simultaneously. And yes, you're invited.
Taking over The Calyx at Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden this Saturday 18 July, the record attempt is exactly what it sounds like. Think of thousands of people standing shoulder-width apart, hands firmly planted on the hips, chests puffed out.
The tongue-in-cheek event celebrates the launch of ECOVACS' new outdoor robotics range, including robotic lawn mowers, a robotic pool cleaner, and an outdoor window-cleaning robot. The idea? Let the robots tackle the yardwork while you stand back and admire the handiwork—in peak Dad Stance form, of course.
Making things even better, Olympic speed skating legend Steven Bradbury will be joining the record attempt. If there's anyone who knows a thing or two about making sporting history and being a father, it's Bradbury.
Beyond the world record attempt, enjoy a day of family-friendly entertainment, a free sausage sizzle, live product demonstrations, a photo zone where you can perfect your stance, and Spin to Win prizes, with several products from the ECOVACS range up for grabs throughout the day. Not bad for a free Saturday outing.
How To Join The Record Attempt
Participation is free for everyone, but you'll need to register ahead of time and check in by 11:30am if you want to be counted towards the official Guinness World Record attempt. So rally the family, practise your best hands-on-hips pose and get ready to make history.
