This Marrickville Gallery Is Morphing Into A Gin-Inspired Dreamscape For Two Days Only

Your weekend Inner West gallery-hop is about to get a little more transportive. For two days only, Hendrick’s Gin is teaming up with acclaimed Australian artist Rone to transform COMA Gallery into Another TIME—a layered, slightly surreal, gin-inspired experience. And the best part? It’s completely free.

This exciting collaboration aligns with the launch of Another Hendrick’s, a new permanent expression built on the signature rose and cucumber notes that Hendrick's Gin is known for, with the addition of bright orange blossom and indulgent cacao for a little more of a layered sip—a push-pull dynamic that also runs through Rone’s work.

Kicking off this Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May, the exhibition is all about illusion, theatre, and that slightly uncanny feeling of not quite knowing where you stand (literally and figuratively). It marks Rone’s debut showing in NSW, reimagining his iconic Backstage installation from his blockbuster TIME exhibitions in Melbourne and Perth through the lens of Another Hendrick’s‚ brought to life as an immersive, walk-through experience.

At its core, the collaboration is built on contrast—between light and dark, brightness and depth, the familiar and delightfully unexpected. It’s something Rone has long explored in his work, and equally sits at the heart of Another Hendrick’s itself.

Expect the gallery to shift around you. The space plays with perspective and staging, blurring the line between observer and artwork, so at some point, you’ll realise you’re part of the scene too. It’s designed to reward a second look (and maybe a third).

And because this is Hendrick’s Gin, there’s obviously a cocktail involved. Each ticket includes a complimentary Another Hendrick’s Spritz, complete with peach liqueur, prosecco, soda water, cucumber and orange garnishes, and served ice-cold.

Sessions run in tight 30-minute slots across both days, so it’s worth locking in a time if you’re keen to go.
