By Erin Curtain

A meringue dessert is scooped onto a spoon.

Every so often, you need to push away your boring meal prep and indulge. Well, now is that time thanks to The Star Sydney.

They've taken it upon themselves to facilitate a line-up of the most decadent, indulgent dishes you’ve ever tasted this autumn and we could not be more excited. We’re talking whiskey pairings, seafood feasts, sommelier chosen wines and luxurious desserts that will send your tastebuds reeling.

Back away from the leftover spaghetti. Here are the most indulgent edible masterpieces you have to try this autumn.

Sokyo

Let’s kick things off with a selection of single malt Japanese whisky flights, courtesy of Sokyo. Taste the complex flavours of three distinct whiskeys, one right after the other, served alongside the perfect pairing of smoky beef tenderloin tataki to bring out the signature smokiness of Japanese whiskey. Choose your line-up from four of Japan’s most esteemed distilleries and bask in the perfect evening for true whiskey-lovers.

BLACK Bar & Grill

If there’s any dining institution you can count on to deliver a one-of-a-kind gourmet experience, it’s BLACK Bar & Grill. This autumn they’ve outdone themselves, serving up a trio of mouthwatering meats paired with a glass of Ridge ‘Geyserville’ Zinfandel blend. Expect aged lamb loin, Korobuta pork chop, and wagyu tenderloin, all prepared and cooked to perfection. Sip on the sommelier chosen full-bodied red between each bite to bring out every flavour.

Flying Fish

We think you deserve a long, relaxed lunch. While away your afternoon at Flying Fish to indulge in their sprawling set menu. We’re talking courses on courses of gourmet of seafood goodness. Expect a selection of oysters, raw kingfish Crudo, glazed Moreton bay bug served with ricotta dumplings, and barbecued swordfish. They’ll also be serving up Tajima wagyu scotch fillet for main followed by an impressive dessert selection featuring passionfruit parfait encased in torched meringue. You might want to take a half-day for this one.

Small bowls of toppings and sauces sits atop a salted plate.

CHUUKA

You can now order luxury itself on a plate at CHUUKA. Known for their Japanese precision, they’ve developed a roe service that takes the word ‘delicacy’ to a whole new level. Savour the way the Ikura salmon roe interacts with each perfectly selected accompaniment like their golden egg yolk sauce, buttery cashew cream, potato rice crackers, and more.

Cucina Porto

Have room for dessert? What’s more indulgent than a feast entirely devoted to Italian sweetness? Cucina Porto has fine-tuned five of Italy’s signature desserts, creating the ultimate shared dessert experience. Think traditional tiramisu, Chantilly cream filled bigne’s, cannoli with whipped ricotta, choc chips and pistachio, cioccolato e lamponi featuring raspberry mousse inside chocolate espresso cups, and finally, torta della mamma - the traditional two-chocolate sponge. Run, don’t walk.
