If your Christmas tree’s already been up in the living room and you’re wondering how else you can get into the spirit this season, the Noël Sydney Christmas festival has you covered with their extensive markets taking over the Royal Botanic Gardens and Macquarie Street this month. The event will run every Friday to Sunday evening from December 9, right up until Christmas Eve for all you last-minute shoppers. This year you’ll find a range of locally crafted products on offer at the market, plus a heap of food and drink options to sweeten the deal.
Many of the stall-holders are supporting a 'shop with purpose' initiative, which means that when you buy a gift from the Noël Sydney markets, you support those affected by this year’s floods. So why not grab a few pressies from the market to spread the love around and support those who need it most? Whether you're shopping for your mum, bestie, step-brother-in-law, or your favourite furry friend, you’ll be able to find something for everyone all in one spot.
A range of food trucks and drinks options will be available for purchase each night, including treats from Brooklyn Boy Bagels, MessySpoon, and South Coast Kimchi Co (if you need us, we’ll be devouring a Shokupan Cheese & Kimchi Toastie or two), plus more. You can also snag some bevs from Archie Rose Distilling Co., Common People Brewing, or Beachtree Distilling Co. who will all be serving cold ones throughout the market all evening long.
The festive market is nestled within the Digital Christmas Forëst, a combination of some of Sydney’s oldest trees as well as ten metre-high trees of the digital variety, all decorated to the nines to help amp up the Christmas vibes. You can also make your way through the Noël Light Trail to really get yourself into the spirit and check out the Noël Christmas Skyshow—a drone display lighting up the sky each night at both 8.15pm and 10pm from Friday, 16 to Saturday, 24 December.
Your festive wanderings will be soundtracked by live entertainment from local, Australian artists, including Katie Noonan, David Campbell, Chris Sebastian and Bella Taylor Smith on selected nights throughout the month. Plus, the littlest member of your crew will have plenty to keep them entertained with Happy Hoop Entertainment performing every night.
Noël Sydney is free for everyone to enjoy, so corral your crew and get amongst the frivolities this year.
