If, like us, you’ve been daydreaming of a Euro escape, we’ve found the perfect shortcut that doesn’t require a passport.

Say bonjour to Harbour Bistro by Pier One—Sydney’s breezy new French bistro is oozing with waterfront charm. From steak frites and caviar-crowned cheeseburgers to bottomless chocolate mousse and mini martinis, here’s everything you can expect to find at this harbourside pop-up.

Meet Sydney’s Newest Waterfront French Bistro

Table of food

From the crew behind Pier One—one of Sydney’s top waterfront dining and drinking destinations—Harbour Bistro is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Parked right on the water’s edge, Harbour Bistro brings a pinch of Parisian charm to Sydney’s stunning Harbour, with a focus on laid-back social dining.

Whether it’s date night, golden-hour hang, mid-week dinner, or weekend bottomless lunch, Harbour Bistro is the go.

Opening 30 April and running until just after Bastille Day in July, Harbour Bistro is here for a good time, not a long time—so round up the crew and book your spot before it says au revoir.

The Good Stuff To Order

The menu puts a laid-back Aussie spin on the French dining playbook, swapping fancy dishes for plates that hit the spot.

What’s good on the menu? Start with a few snacks like the Sydney Rock oysters with seaweed and cider vinegar, and the smooth chicken liver pâté, followed by hand-cut beef tartare and baked scallops with a gruyère crust, perfectly presented in a seashell.

Then, dive into mains like mussels cooked in chardonnay sauce with fries, herb-roasted chicken with creamy mash and the absolute must-order steak frites starring a 300g scotch fillet, golden fries and a sauce of the day

Harbour Bistro’s caviar-loaded burgers are also a standout. Pick between the caviar cheeseburger with a premium wagyu beef patty and top-end Sturia caviar, or the cod & caviar burger packed with fresh cod fillet and caviar-spiked herb mayo

Still hungry? Beef up your meal with sides like creamy mash, green beans in garlic butter, charred leeks sprinkled with a house vinaigrette or a mustardy lettuce and herb mix.

As for drinks, the cocktail list gives ‘ooh la la’ with French-inspired faves that pair perfectly with sparkling city and water views. Check out the full Harbour Bistro food and drinks menu here.

Sweet Treats To End On

No dinner (or lunch) is complete without a sweet treat. So finish it all off with a seasonal tart served with vanilla ice cream, or a rich hazelnut cream-filled Paris-Brest pastry for dessert & bottomless choc mousse served on Fridays.

For something less sweet, order up the fromage platter featuring a rotating selection of blue, washed rind, soft, semi-hard and goat's cheeses. View the full Harbour Bistro dessert menu online here.
