Sydney’s Best-Kept Free Secret Gig Is Back—And DJ EZ, Lady Shaka And HALFQUEEN Are On The Lineup
Sydney/Gadigal, clear your calendar and call your crew—the city’s most elusive event of epic live music is back, and you’re invited.
On Thursday, 30 October, the BWS Cool Room returns for another late-night multi-room takeover at a top secret location somewhere in the CBD, and trust us, this one’s going to blow the bassline off last year’s.
For its 2025 comeback, BWS has teamed up with the party architects Astral People and Johnnie Walker Black Ruby—the blackberry and soda serve mixed with smooth whisky that’s already shaping up to be the sip of summer—to throw a party that’ll have you two-stepping into the early hours. Step through the literal Cool Room portal swathed in immersive art from Sam Price, grab your grab your complimentary Johnnie Walker Black Ruby on arrival and then venture into an electric evening.
Headlining the night is UK garage icon DJ EZ, a certified wizard behind the decks whose legendary Boiler Room set still lives rent-free in every raver’s brain. Joining him are two of Aotearoa’s fiercest forces, with Lady Shaka playing back-to-back with HALFQUEEN for a high-octane, genre-hopping set that’ll get everyone on their feet.
They’re backed by a stacked local line-up including C.FRIM, dameeeela, Kilimi, Bouki from Sydney’s garage crew Dayshift, Bella Bella and Obeido, each taking turns behind the decks across multiple rooms.
The best bit? Tickets are free. $0. On the house. No wallet required. But act fast, as they’re extremely limited, and the secret location will only be revealed during the week of the event.
This is the kind of party you’ll still be talking about long after the last track drops. BWS Cool Room, be there or be square.
