A World-First Sleepgustation Is Coming To Sydney—With Melatonin Margaritas

By

Two people dining at a white tiled table, both sipping on margaritas.

What you eat can play a big part in how you sleep, and the snooze-gods at Emma (yep, the team behind that sleep hotel) are tapping into this with their Sleepgustation—a seven-course meal designed to improve those zzz’s, regardless of if you’re popping the eye mask on at home or at the Sleep Hotel

Hosted on the Emma Sleep Hotel’s rooftop, the Sleepgustation has been curated by a handful of sleep scientists, using ingredients that are clinically proven to induce a good night’s rest. Think plenty of serotonin-stimulating potatoes and even a melatonin margarita.

To start, the likes of a Nightcap Niçoise is packed with tuna, greens and egg. Not just a perfect, lighter entry point to the weightier dishes to come in the Sleepgustation, but a combo of melatonin-producing healthy-fat fish, and tryptophan and fibre-rich legumes.

For the Sleepgustation’s mains, you’ll find the Night Night Gnocchi with a simple yet effective brown butter sauce. Sure, we’ve all found ourselves a little snoozy after a bowl of those potato clouds, but there’s a reason for that, and that’s because potato gives your serotonin a nudge in the right direction. The Cluck Cluck Snooze chicken pie is also on the menu, as well as a confit king salmon with braised beans for another hit of melatonin production and fibre respectively.

And for the final act before you hit the hay, a knock-out mille-feuille, packed with cherries and pistachios which are both great for those levels of melatonin—that’s a hormone that helps you sleep, in case you were wondering.

Don’t forget another round of melatonin margs while you’re there.

Emma Sleep Hotel’s seven-course Sleepgustation will set you back $120 for two people. Book in here
