The Ultimate Night Out: Your 2026 Sydney Comedy Festival Guide
In the mood to laugh your guts out? Luckily for you, the Sydney Comedy Festival is all set to roll into town for a month of cracking jokes, bites, and beverages.
Running from Monday 13 April to Sunday 17 May, the beloved festival will transform Sydney into a city-wide comedy playground, with more than 850 performances across dozens of venues. From iconic theatres to pubs, rooftops and outdoor stages, expect a packed program of stand-up, sketch, satire, musical comedy and live events featuring international heavyweights, Australian favourites and rising talent.
Now celebrating its 21st year, the 2026 season stretches across five massive weeks of laughs, bringing global names and cult favourites to stages from the CBD to the Inner West.

Sydney Comedy Festival 2026 Lineup
This year’s program features more than 400 shows, making it the largest lineup in the festival’s history.
International standouts include Scottish comic Daniel Sloss, Irish comedian Joanne McNally, musical comedy legend Dave O’Doherty, and the electrifying Reuben Kaye. Australian favourites Josh Thomas and Celia Pacquola will also return to the festival circuit.
Two major international exclusives headline the program. Emmy and Grammy-winning comedian Tiffany Haddish will perform at both the State Theatre and the Enmore Theatre in April, while Richard Gadd, creator and star of Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, will appear live at the Sydney Opera House for a special onstage conversation.
The program also features theatrical comedy including the popular stage production CLUEDO, running at the Theatre Royal from 11–26 April, alongside cult favourites like Theatresports Allstars and the Aboriginal Comedy All Stars.
Sydney Comedy Festival Events And Highlights
Beyond traditional stand-up sets, the Sydney Comedy Festival is packed with large-scale events and interactive comedy experiences across the city.
A family-friendly highlight returning this year is Great Laugh in the Park, an outdoor showcase at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour on 19 April. Hosted by comedian Jimmy Rees OAM, the event will feature a playful lineup suitable for all ages—including the popular Bluey Live Interactive Experience.
The festival’s signature Comedy Gala on the Green will also return to Tumbalong Park on 18 April, hosted by New Zealand comedian Guy Montgomery.
One brand-new addition to the program is the Sydney Comedy Festival Comedy Cruise, which will take audiences onto Sydney Harbour aboard the “HMS Comedy” for a night of stand-up while cruising past the city skyline.
Meanwhile, the popular Comedy Crawl will return with six different tours across Sydney nightlife hotspots—from historic pubs in The Rocks to breweries in Rozelle, rooftop bars in Manly, and queer clubs along Oxford Street.

Tickets for Sydney Comedy Festival shows start from $26, with events hosted across venues including the Enmore Theatre, Sydney Opera House, State Theatre, Theatre Royal and dozens of smaller comedy spaces around the city.
