Score 50% Off The Food Bill At These Must-Try Sydney Restaurants

Friends cheers their wines at dinner

Pre-Christmas catch up season is in full swing—and our social calendars are filling up faster than we can keep up. At a time where every dollar counts, being able to buy anything without closing your eyes at the Eftpos machine feels like a dream come true. Luckily, our mates at First Table have teamed up with a swathe of restaurants across Sydney to—as the name suggests—give you a whopping 50% off your food bill for booking the first table (for 2 - 4 people) and dining early. Drinks are regular price, but you'll have plenty of cash for cocktails with a half-price dinner bill.

Wherever you are in Sydney—and around Aus for that matter—grab your mates or a date and discover an atlas full of new dishes and cuisines. To help you decide where to go, we’ve rounded up three primo spots to add to your list. Plus, to help you save even more cash, we have an exclusive deal for your first booking—giving you $5 off your first booking fee when you create an account (usually $10).

Civico 47

When Belinda Carlise uttered those words “Heaven is a place on Earth”, she must've tucked in at this neighbourhood fine-diner. A bright, elegant space hidden behind a quaint blue door in Paddington, Civico 47’s menu pays special homage to their Italian roots while heroing fresh Aussie produce.

Make sure you try their dry-aged duck with witlof, mandarin dressing and mizuna, or the tortelloni with goat cheese, asparagus and kumquats. For dessert, dive into the decadence of the
delizia al cioccolato—chocolate ganache, coconut biscuit and yoghurt sorbet.

Long Chim

pad thai at long chim

David Thompson brings his renowned flavours and electric spice to a moody underground spot in the heart of the CBD at Long Chim. Dine with all the liveliness of Thailand in Long Chim’s vast market-style space with the open kitchen as its beating heart.

You'll find classics like pad thai and pad see ew, which are a little warmer than you're used to. But for the full dining experience, we love testing our taste buds with something new like the sour orange prawn curry or a crispy deep-fried pink ling fish. ‘Long Chim’ translates to ‘come and taste’, so get to booking—we don't make the rules.

The Argyle

Nachos the argyle

With a menu covering all the pub classics and a cocktail-loaded drinks list, The Argyle gives you a whole lot more than a late-night party spot. Set in a cavernous 1820s sandstone building with a sun-soaked courtyard made for those lazy Sunday seshes, this cruisy spot will draw you back all summer long.

Kick back over nachos loaded with smoky beans, charred corn and jalapenos—or go nuts on an angus beef or crumbed mushroom burger dripping with secret sauce. We’ll take one of each, thanks.

We hope you left room for dessert because First Table is also giving away a sweet Sydneysider staycation worth over $1,000. Spend the weekend at Crown Plaza feasting at Coogee Beach jewels Estate and Shutters, before settling in for a sleep with an awesome view of the water. Find out how to enter here, and be sure to enter before 21 November.

Still hungry? First Table has partnered with over 1,500 restaurants globally so you can stamp your foodie passport home in Australia, across the ditch in NZ, or even lounging poolside in Bali.
