29th Dec 2021

Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks are firmly on the global radar, revered as some of the most spectacular when the clock strikes 12. And after what feels like a lifetime of restrictions, lock-outs and lockdowns, we can finally all come together to celebrate and collectively slam our 2021 chapter shut—so why not go out with a beautiful bang, right?!

If you and your crew are already loosely throwing out ideas and pencilling plans but, like us, haven’t yet cemented them, we’re here to tell you that the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is the place to soak up the fireworks and celebrate this New Year’s Eve in Sydney.

One of Sydney’s most stunning places to roll out a rug, the Royal Botanic Garden is playing host to a number of ticketed events this year—six in total—ranging from budget to boujee, BYO to fully catered. Plus, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is a not-for-profit organisation, so all funds raised from the NYE events go to supporting horticultural and scientific work that the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust deliver.

An exclusively adult-only affair, here you can eat, drink and dance the night away with endless entertainment, unlimited access to foodie stations and roving dessert, plus your very own gourmet nibbles hamper. By far the best place to catch the fireworks, The Point is set waterside just below Mrs Macquarie’s Chair with panoramic views of Farm Cove. Bliss out on a curated selection of bean bags, comfy seating and dining area or hit the dancefloor and party like it’s 2019—tickets will also be capped so there will be plenty of space to kick back. Tickets will also be capped in this area to allow an abundance of lounging space.

Harbourview Gold

Level up from silver to gold with a premium vantage point at the most north-easterly part of Farm Cove—but it’s first in, best dressed for a spot, so we recommend getting in early. You’ll also have access to additional amenities like a premium wine bar and some of Sydney’s most beloved food trucks.

Foundation And Friends Member Picnic

Dedicated to Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Garden members, here you’ll score a prime open-air possie smack bang in front of Sydney Harbour with unobstructed views of the fireworks. It’s also BYO everything (except glass), so we’ll see you there. Not a member? Click here to find out how you can join up today and support the work of the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain Trust.

$40 per person + BF

Perfect for a no-fuss affair with your whole crew, the Harbourview Silver package will grant you access to Mrs Macquarie’s Point with stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge fireworks.
