Two acrobats pose intertwined on a peach-coloured set

Looking for a slice of culture this summer? Head along to the Sydney Opera House to have your mind blown by contemporary circus spectacular, The Mirror

The Mirror turns preconceptions of what a circus can be on its head—literally. You’ll be wowed by gravity-defying acrobatics, seemingly impossible physicality, and breathtaking stunts. And, for good measure, there’s also a decent dose of captivating cabaret. This is the circus as you’ve never seen it before.

The intoxicating performance is brought to you by Australian multi-award-winning company, Gravity & Other Myths. The production company is known and loved for its extremely acrobatic shows without the aid of apparatus—you’ll be shocked to learn such feats are physically possible.

The Mirror’s aptly named performance explores the journey of self-discovery. How do you choose to show yourself to the world and what does it mean to be truly “authentic”? The ideas are presented through elements of variety, cabaret, and physical theatre that'll surprise and delight. Live music adds to the drama with award-winning composer and musician Ekrem Eli Phoenix at the helm.

The must-see summer circus at The House runs from Thursday, February 9 to Sunday, March 5. To find out more and to book your tickets, head over here.
