Get ready to be dazzled folks—Vivid Sydney is back for its triumphant 13th year combining mind-blowing light shows, arts, creativity, technology and innovation along with a generous serving of food, music and culture from 26th May until 17th June. To celebrate, the state’s tallest building and ultimate five-star luxury haven Crown Sydney will be lighting up for the second consecutive year. Providing the perfect vantage point to witness the spectacle of light, colour and vibrancy in the bustling Barangaroo district, there’s no better place to enjoy this adored winter fest.
As a supporting partner, Crown Sydney will embrace the 2023 theme, ‘Vivid Sydney, Naturally’, activating both the interior and exterior of the complex with light displays inspired by the four seasons. For each of the seasons, there will be a focus on the representation through light and sound of nature, ambience and flora.
The first five levels of the Crown Sydney facade will project a near-infinite array of elegant patterns and vibrant colours complementing the stunning waterfront location. The story will continue inside with Crown Sydney transforming the ‘Oculus’, the largest chandelier in the Southern Hemisphere, which spirals up the interior of the lobby. The Occulus will display a four-minute light show each evening from 6-11pm, with the best vantage points for visitors to watch from levels two and three.
Sitting pretty on Level 26, you’ll find breathtaking views from the luxurious rooftop terrace bar CIRQ. From the lofty heights, you’ll be completely awe-struck by the unparalleled views of the harbour while enjoying a bespoke Vivid-inspired cocktails—it really doesn’t get much more fabulous than that. If you’re keen for some world-class fine dining, head to the decadent Woodcut Restaurant. Woodcut’s Chef/Owner, Ross Lusted, will also spearhead the Vivid Fire Kitchen at The Cutaway, Barangaroo as part of the brand-new festival pillar, Vivid Food. As one of Sydney’s iconic local chefs, Lusted will profile renowned Woodcut dishes including the famous “Brick” Chicken with Fragrant Lime, Pine Nuts and Grapes, as well as Ash-Grilled Tied Beans with Piquillo Peppers and Yoghurt. If you’re after more of a Mediterranean flair, head to a’Mare for a carefully curated Vivid-inspired Italian feast. Perfetto.
