Southside Charmers

Pull up a plush, velvet stool at Redfern’s Southside Charmers and you’ll immediately feel right at home. Bursting with vibrant, retro charm, the laid-back eatery is the new lovechild from hospo heavyweights Anne Cooper and Georgia Woodyard—the team who run Bart Jr. and previously ran Scout’s Honour and Morris in Paddington—so you know you’re in for a feel-good meal.

Menu-wise, the team have taken inspiration from Miami and California, so it’s fresh, healthy, seasonal and sunny. You’ll also find a few spicy cocktails and dishes with South American and Mexican flavours. Expect to find everything from nourish bowls, roasted salmon and spiced potato gems, to peanut butter and ricotta sourdough and slow-cooked pork rolls. 

Aside from the food, this ‘70s-inspired Miami-style eatery is serving you a stunning backdrop for your next ‘Gram. The walls are awash with pastel pink and soft green accents, while eye-catching palm-tree wallpaper wraps around the American diner-style bar. Oh, and the space is decked out with velvet stools and pink chairs. Overall, it’s a vibrant space with a welcoming and relaxed vibe. 

The best part? It’s open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday and open until late for dinner and drinks Thursday to Saturday. They also serve wine and cocktails from 10 am daily, so it’s safe to say we’ll meet you at the bar.
