The Verdict
Aki’s is fine dining Indian cuisine at its best. Sitting waterside at the beautiful Woolloomooloo wharf, it combines the best of both worlds: fresh produce and modern flavours paired with classic Goan and South Indian dishes.
Chef Kumar Mahadevan has designed a selection of set menus so you can taste a variety of delicious delicacies and share the love. The crab iddiappam is a must: blue swimmer crab meat tossed with black mustard seeds, fresh tomatoes and ginger on a bed of brown rice. It’s every bit as good as it sounds.
Be sure to try one of the mouth-watering cocktails, a candy shop in Calcutta combines cherries, licorice, lemon drops, roses and fairy floss for the ultimate in indulgent boozing.
