By the team behind The Gidley, Bistecca, and The Rover, Alfie’s is a fresh take on the classic steakhouse that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Alfie’s shakes off the traditional steakhouse/brasserie model, offering a great price point and dynamic experience starting with a steak in the restaurant and ending with Sydney's most frost-bitten Martini in the bar—all within an hour, if you're not here to mess around.
"We're going off script at Alfie's by offering the same high-quality food and booze but fast-paced and full of action,” says James Bradey, co-founder and director of Liquid and Larder.
Beef-fat candle-lit venues Bistecca and The Gidley are loved for their commitment to single cuts (the T-bone and rib-eye respectively)—and Alfie’s will follow suit by exclusively offering sirloins from NSW’s Riverine region, butchered in-house in a new central butchery and steak ageing facility.
Pair your steak, cooked on a custom-made grill, with a selection of creative but familiar sides. The idea is that the ordering process is simple and intuitive, suited to everything from power lunches to quality starts to a night out in the city.
Must-tries on the menu include the "Beefetta" special, Alfie’s take on porchetta. This is cooked for five hours in the restaurant's dedicated spit-roast window and available from 5pm until sold out.
Wrap it up with the "Gelato on a Stick" dessert, a collab with Ciccione & Sons that involves burnt honey gelato, beef fat, and rosemary and can be ordered to-g0.
Taking design inspiration from London’s edgy East End, expect a full sensory experience from the fiery grill to the avant-garde art on the walls and the UK grime soundtrack.
Alfie's dedicated bar overlooks Bligh Street and pours an extensive wine list, world-class cocktails (including Sydney’s coldest Martini—served at -10 degrees), and a smaller bar snack menu that features things like a hot chip spit roast beef butty. With no reservations required, a nightly happy hour from 4pm-6pm, and DJs bringing the vibes, Alfie's bar is a destination in its own right.
