Antica Dining is a North Sydney Italian restaurant in the heritage-listed Montrose House on Miller Street, steps from the Victoria Cross Station.

It’s the second venue from the group behind beloved Hills District Italian restaurant Entrata, where head chef Jomel Santos has led the kitchen for nine years.

“I like to honour tradition while embracing fresh, local Australian ingredients,” he says. “Our menu proudly showcases Italian cuisine from the land to the sea with culinary treasures from the north to the south of Italy.”

The elevated Italian menu moves through snacks like yellowfin tuna crostini and scallops with parsnip creme and pumpkin caponatina; antipasti like scampi with salmoriglio or Wagyu carpaccio with truffle mustard, pickled golden beetroot, crispy pecorino, candied walnut and lemon oil; and slow-cooked and grilled mains including duck, toothfish, and a bistecca for two.

House-made pasta includes filled varieties (like ravioli filled with salami and pork sausage with roasted cherry tomato sugo, nduja, pecorino and parsley foam) and longer shapes like spaghetti with Western Australia rock lobster, cherry tomato, garlic, chilli, saffron lobster butter bisque and citrus almond pesto. The saffron risotto alla Milanese with osso buco and gremolata quickly became a fan favourite.

The drinks program includes over 300 wines from all regions of Italy, plus signature cocktails and dessert cocktails like the Tiramisu with amaretto, Licor 43, cream, frangelico and espresso.

Dining spaces scattered throughout the historic home include a main dining room with an Art Deco-inspired interior, plus private dining spaces suited for parties up to 50 guests.

There’s also a bar space, open from midday Monday–Saturday, with a dedicated menu of snacks like tuna crostini, zucchini croquettes and calamari fritti.
