Bar Ombre | Urban List Sydney

Get ready to rejoice, because the legends at Salt Meats Cheese have opened up a rooftop bar in Circular Quay called Bar Ombré so you can soak up the spectacle that is Sydney Harbour, Negroni in hand.

Pitched on top of the new Gateway building, you can expect sweeping views—the bar’s name calls out the sparkly harbour vista and the gradient (or in this case, ombré) of blue sky through to fiery pinks at sunset.

If that’s not dreamy enough for you, Bar Ombré serves Salt Meats Cheese’s epic charcuterie boards with house-stretched cheeses and plates of fried calamari and grilled eggplant.

During their sunset 4-6pm happy hour, platters of San Daniele prosciutto and burrata line the tables while you’re sipping on a $20 carafe of Aperol Spritz, Sangria or Margarita. Load up for a group night out and down specialty cocktails, like vanilla and grapefruit barrel-aged Negroni to the “Forget Me Not” with Beefeater gin, lychee liqueur, St Germain, lime juice, egg whites and plum bitters.

When happy hour ends, from 6-8pm indulge in their free bar snacks like truffled popcorn, wood-fired crackers and pesto, smoked olives, cured pancetta with chilli and pepper, truffle pecorino and roasted peppers with salsa verde.

And if you’re still feeling peckish, you can always take the stairs down to the Salt Meats Cheese Circular Quay restaurant for pizza, pasta and more.
