The Details

The Verdict

We may be bidding farewell to a staple in Chippendale (goodbye Kensington Street Social) but we’re also welcoming the 120-seat and Eastern Mediterranean flavours brought to us by Barzaari (yep, from the dudes who have already been massive in Marrickville for the past two years).

This restaurant is all about the feeds originating from regions such as Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt and will be opening up within The Old Clare. In true form, the dishes here are meant to be shared among the people but big plates are still a thing. You’ll also find a bunch of small sweet options including orange blossom marshmallows, loukoumi and soujouko from Athienou, Cyprus.

This time around, the space has been designed by award-winning architects Neri & Hu and executed by Matt Darwon. There’ll also be some elements echoed from the Marrickville joint including Giuseppe Arcimboldo's 'The Four Seasons mural', their signature Sand Pit coffee and marketplace flare.
