The Verdict

Bay Vista Dessert Bar is south Sydney’s answer to ridiculous desserts and now it’s headed for the west. This place has it all. No really, the menu goes on for days (near enough anyway). Yes, they serve traditional desserts (think Cannoli, log cake, and banana split) but the fun doesn’t stop there. 

The menu also has cakes and pies, eighteen different flavours of sorbet and ice cream, share plates (fondue for two, anyone!?), scrolls bathed in icing sugar, pancakes and waffles done pretty much anyway you want, your own customizable bucket of ice cream (um, YES), crepes, and even froyo. Phew, we’re tired just thinking about it. 

We’re all for classics like chocolate mousse with choc shavings, a rolled choc wafer and fresh strawbs, but would never say no to the Insta-worthy caramel banana dessert jar with waffle bites, sliced banana, custard, whipped cream, and candied pecans, all drizzled with caramel. Who would? While we’ve got you, we also need you to know that they make a mean sweet drink—milkshakes, frappes, icy fruit shakes and smoothies are just the beginning. 

If for some reason you are not a sweet tooth, there are a few savoury options like cheesy waffle melts. ‘Nuff said.
