the verdict

Everyone’s favourite Northern Beaches Sunday sesh spot, The Newport, just got even better with the addition of Bert’s. This one is focusing on fresh produce with a touch of luxe weaved throughout their coastal European menu. Not to mention the seriously lush dining room that gives a not-so-subtle nod to the 1930s (cue hours spent here drinking delicious tipple and top notch nosh).

Here are the specifics. You'll be ordering up big on plates of fresh oysters, crab, whole fish and lobster from the tank plus while charcuterie plates and charcoal-roasted beef are on the menu for anyone who’s after a heartier meal. And you can bet your bottom dollar we will be ordering all of the share plates, but really, you’re not surprised, are you?

When it’s time for a drink (only always), turn your attention to their killer cocktail list that’ll perfectly accompany the countless summer days you’ll be spending here. Our pick of the bunch is inspired by the classic royale, made with Absolut Elyx vodka, ginger cordial and champagne, it's even finished with finger lime caviar.

At Bert’s you will truly be living your best life, there’s no doubt about it.
