The verdict

Nestled within the hustle and bustle of Harris Street, Ultimo, sits an unassuming café that is bursting with Australian-Asian flavours. Brainwave Cafe is the brainchild of Thirawat Munesane and Ann Suwimon, who opened the space to help and inspire students and professionals who are in the midst of creating their own ‘brainwave’. 

Surrounded by the University of Technology Sydney and the ABC, Brainwave Cafe serves ONA coffee, cold drinks, sparkling brew tea and their signature soft-serves. The soft-serve flavours vary but include Thai milk tea, pandan coconut and ONA latte. For more substantial food offerings, Brainwave Cafe offers crafted Australian-Asian street food such as massaman pulled pork and beer battered chips, chilli fettuccine with pipis and basil and Thai herb and lemongrass buckwheat noodle soup.
