NSW’s first location from Scottish craft beer giants BrewDog, this whopping Eveleigh pub and beer garden can accommodate 720 patrons inside and 190 outside across its historic Locomotive Workshop setting.

With 40 beers on tap, including a range of BrewDog’s carbon-negative and sustainably made beers from the brand’s solar-powered brewery and taproom in Queensland, as well as guest beer tap takeovers, spirits, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic options, there’s a knockoff for everyone.

To pair with the brews there’s a menu of farm-to-table comfort food like burgers, wings, pizzas and salads, with half of the menu plant-based and specials including 2-4-1 Vegan Mondays and all-you-can-eat-wings for $25 on Wing Wednesdays.

The heritage venue is complemented by vintage neon signs and an industrial-style fit-out and lighting, including polished concrete floors and a concrete bar and kitchen countertop.

Bar Demo

Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
