The verdict
Brick Lane Espresso in West Pymble is a hidden gem in Phillip Mall, offering an interesting combination of food with an Italian touch and great coffee too. They are one of the very few cafes in Sydney that are open every day of the week for breakfast and lunch, meaning helloooooo Sunday brunch!
For brekkie you can find some of the classics (smashed avo, porridge, French toast), however they’ve also got some interesting options for those who want to opt for something different. There’s a homemade Punjabi vegetable curry with a hard spiced poached egg and mint yoghurt or there’s creamy polenta with Spanish chorizo, a baked egg, smoked paprika and melted cheddar.
When it comes to lunch you’re spoilt for choice. With an array of salads, burgers and bruschettas you’ll leave feeling full and ready to tackle the afternoon. The blue cheese burger on a light brioche bun with blue cheese sauce, crispy prosciutto and onion chutney has to be a favourite, however the pulled pork bruschetta with apple and fennel slaw on sourdough toast is also a winner.
