The Verdict

Bungalow 8 are throwing the street food fair of the year on October 4th! Running from midday until 12pm, there will be a huge selection of food stalls as well as some of Sydney's best food trucks. Dont miss out! Check the what's on tab for more info.

Bringing a little touch of the Pacific to the Sydney CBD, Bungalow 8’s tiki inspired bar offers the right amount of escapism without the price of a plane ticket. Nestled along King Street Wharf, it’s conveniently located for your next after-work tipple. If the sun’s out, then why not soak up some Vitamin D and take advantage of the well-priced cocktail jugs on offer? From a little Southern twist on sangria to an Island take on English Pimms, they’re guaranteed to bring you back to memories of lounging by the beach. And with food options like crab sliders, your classic sirloin steak and the Kilohana beef burger to accompany your drink of choice, what’s not to like?

Punters don’t have to clean out their wallets to enjoy this buzzing bar in Sydney. Walk down the Promenade Monday through Wednesday and you’ve just secured yourself a $10 meal. Or say a proper goodbye to the office with the $5 drink deals on Thursday and Friday. And there’s always plenty of events going on at this harbourside oasis. From pulled beef slider feasts, $20 all you can eat chicken wings, relaxing ladies lunches and lively DJ-packed nights, Bungalow 8 is the perfect venue for groups. With a little forward thinking, grab up to 9 of your best mates and book yourself for their signature Peking style whole suckling pig. After you’ve devoured this piece de resistance, swap the meat sweats for some quality dance vibes and have some fun.

Bar Demo

Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
