The Verdict
Kenny Takayama (ex-head chef of Bills) knows everything there is to know about breakfast, which is why you need to get yourself his latest outpost, Café Kentaro, STAT.
Hot off the success Café Oratnek, Takayama continues to bring a Japanese twist to all your favourite Aussie dishes. The Karage Sambo (think Japanese fried chicken, kimuchi and mayo on bread), The Signature Katsu and other dishes they’re known for remain on the menu, but there’s a heap of new ones to choose from, like the Matcha French Toast and Japanese Poutine.
Tucked away on leafy Bourke Street in Surry Hills, this is one café you’re tastebuds deserve to try.
