The Verdict

Located in the heart of Double Bay, Café Perons offers tranquil outdoor and indoor seating, as well as takeaway options for anyone on the go.

For brekky, there are the age-old favourites with a twist—we love the haloumi avo smash on sourdough with optional add-ons of bacon, salmon or poached eggs. You can also choose from a selection of tasty toast options like the classic avocado and chilli flakes with a lime wedge, or go Italian-style with the prosciutto ricotta, fresh tomato, basil and balsamic glaze. Pizza omelettes are a thing at Café Perons, and they’re certainly making our tummies rumble. For a veggie option, sink your teeth into the pumpkin, pesto, capsicum, eggplant, olives and sundried tomato pizza omelette, served with cheddar cheese and toast.

For lunch, they serve a huge and delicious selection of open sandwiches and melts. There are also loads of salads like the pear prosciutto, Italian nicoise or raw vegan to make you feel lean and green, but if you’re feeling like something a little heavier, they’ve got you covered too. The fish tacos are a firm favourite at Café Perons, and we also like the look of sirloin steak sandwich, served with sweet potato fries (a must, really).

If you’re feeling thirsty, the Pavlova Martini has your name all over it—we’re talking vodka, licor 43, fresh passionfruit, apple and lemon juice. Drink responsibly and don’t spill it; this martini tastes way too good to spare even a drop.
