It’s a well known fact that even the meatiest of meat eaters love a good falafel. Hesham El Masry (of Summer Hill’s Plunge No.46) is the brains behind new Egyptian eatery, Cairo Takeaway on Enmore Road. He’s serving up the food that he grew up with and you’ll find falafel rolls, meat plates (vegetarian and meat) and slow cooked breakfast fava beans on the menu.
Basically it’s pimped out takeaway, without all of the regrets that come from a trip down to your local kebab shop. You can eat in, or as the name suggests, take your feast away. They’re open for lunch and dinner, but on the weekends they’re open and ready to serve you shakshouka baked eggs with those delicious fava beans we mentioned earlier.
