The Verdict
Located in the Italian central of Sydney on Norton Street, Capriccio focusses on modern Italian while sticking to typical Italian flavours. Using their wood fire oven for anything and everything, from lamb ribs to vegetables and porchetta. On a nice day, sit outside and watch the world go by (with a spritz in hand, of course) or tuck into something filling when dinner rolls around. Oh, and take a moment to admire the beautiful crockery—they're hand painted and imported from Italy.
Head Chef Nicole Bampton has recently taken over the pans and she's brought her years of experience at Tetsuya's and Lucio's with her. Start with the house made rosemary focaccia then move onto the stinging nettle tortellini filled with pork and duck, served in a prosciutto broth. If you don't back it up with the basil panna cotta then we can't be friends #justsaying.
