The Verdict
From the creators of local favourite Wolfe and Co, comes Cod’s Gift—the newest seafood restaurant in the Hills District. As the name suggests, they’ll be serving up freshly caught Australian seafood with a focus on local produce, which is (as you’d expect) all sustainably sourced, thus helping to preserve the Australian ecosystem. Now that’s something we can all get behind, surely?
The menu will feature all your favourite fishy classics, including Western Australian barramundi fillet, South Australian mussels, and whole kingfish fresh from the Northern Territory. For non-seafood fans, there’ll be steak, chicken, and vegetarian options as well, so you won’t go hungry. If you choose to settle in, then the drinks menu boasts biodynamic wines and modern cocktails, like the gin and juice, which is a refreshing combination of saffron gin, dragon fruit, and watermelon; and a salt and vinegar martini (now we’re intrigued). Alternatively, you can treat this place as your new local fish and chip shop, and get the goods to go.
Set to open in late winter, Cod’s Gift will be open for lunch and dinner all week long (there'll even by live music), so you can get your fish and chip fix any day of the week.
