The verdict

Cook & Archies is one of Surry Hills’ best-kept secrets. Tucked away just off Devonshire Street, this trendy eatery is loved by locals for good reason.

Whether you’re after breakfast, lunch or brunch (our fave), the menu satisfies any craving. With old style classics like omelettes and eggs benny, as well as oh-so-healthy breakfast bowls (with almond hummus) for #cleaneating, and Middle Eastern inspired shakshouka (topped with goats cheese) for anyone with a hangover.

Their lunch menu comes with a delicious Greek twist, think spanakopita, slow cooked roast lamb pita, and spice cauliflower salad options, as well as traditional (and god damn delicious) burgers, sandwiches and salads. To keep you warm this winter, they have a special truffle menu (who doesn't like truffle), including deep fried French toast (yes, we're serious) topped with mascarpone, poached pears and truffle (obvs).

Supporting local businesses (which makes us love them even more), they serve bread from Iggy’s Bakery, coffee by Single O, meats from Vic’s Meats and fish from Claudio’s Fish Market, so you know you’re in good hands.
