The verdict

Devon Café has quickly garnered a cult following for its unique spin on the classic toastie. The interior of this Surry Hills eatery is warm and welcoming with its beechwood timber décor, while a sun-drenched courtyard makes Devon Café the perfect Sunday brunch spot. The coffee, courtesy of 5 Senses, is served up alongside a casual yet delightful menu including house-made baked goodies and bread via Sydney's Victoire Bakery.

For the month of October, Devon is hosting a Kakigori Pop-Up and FYI, that means there'll be Japanese shave ice desserts happening all month long. There's a new Insta-worthy flavour every week—think taro ABC with shaved butterfly pea flower ice, bubur cha cha (a sweet coconut dessert) and taro ice cream, and a summery shaved watermelon ice with rose flavoured ice cream, whipped yoghurt and fresh strawberries. The third week will see a mango lassi on the scene and the final week is one big surprise.

The fun is happening until Friday 3 November and you’ll want to head here before they’re all gone.
