Down N Out Castle Hill

Down N’ Out has made its first foray into the Hills District and for that, we are eternally grateful.

These burger juggernauts are no stranger to the glorious world of big-time burger feasting, having already clocked four other Sydney locations (in Top Ryde, the CBD, Crows Nest and an awesome Halal concept in Bankstown), all the while amassing one hell of a following on the socials thanks to its unholy stacks of the good stuff.

At the new Hills District outpost, the bar is lit by pinball machines and a slew of neon lights—so the throwback vibes are very real.

You can expect to see Down N’ Out’s infamous craft beer line-up (the “Tower of Tinnies”) packed with a rotating list of 25  cold ones.

“We change this seasonally and they represent the latest and greatest craft beers both locally and internationally,” says Down N’ Out founder Ben Kagan. “We regularly feature breweries such as Daintons, Stone and Yulli’s Brews to name a few.”

And, as for the real magnum opus (burgers of course), well, let’s just say there’s a hefty amount of burger craziness you’ll want to work your way through. The crew will be churning out all the big boy staples, including the classic double wagyu beef stack, the panko-crumbed mushroom combo and the ever-perfect “chick’n” bun loaded wth southern fried breast, DNO smokey BBQ sauce and mayo.

As for the weekly specials? You’ll be running in for stupid-delicious creations like pizza mac ‘n’ cheese and stacks packed with actual Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

“This week’s burger is Sopranos themed,” adds Kagan. “[It] features wagyu beef, cheesy arancini patty, amatriciana sauce, truffle Parmesan fries and roquette.”

Down N' Out Castle Hill is slated to open Thursday 12 December.
