The Verdict
A favourite amongst the working crowd and many la abuelas, Encasa Deli is a fail-safe cafe in the CBD. The offerings are simple with the main drawcard being their Bocadillos (i.e. Spanish baguettes of deliciousness). With 10 varieties offered daily with a special thrown in here and there, there’s a filling for every appetite. The classic is their Pepito which combines eye fillet, a fried egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato and aioli between perfectly light and crusty bread.
Part deli part restaurant, you can also fill up on some quality produce here as well. The deli cabinet has a variety of jamons, salamis and cheeses as well as a whole shelf full of hard-to-find Mediterannean staples near the back.
