The verdict

Essen offer comfort food at its finest, and will deliver the delicious delicacies of Germany without costing you a plane ticket. We almost fainted at the first mention of Curry Wurst: sausages in tomato sauce with a hint of curry and served with fries and mixed salad. If it's a schnitty you're after, the Gypsy Schnitzel with sweet and spicy tomato capsicum sauce is a hit.
