Waiting to be discovered down a heritage laneway off Bridge Street, Ette is a swish Sydney CBD restaurant and bar that’s all about fast and fuss-free fine dining minus the hefty price tag.
Complimentary house-made focaccia and oils are served on arrival (a rarity in Sydney’s dining scene), followed by signature snackEttes—which aim to hit the table in under five minutes—and ever-changing mains based on what’s best in season, while supporting local growers and producers.
The snackEttes are just $9.50 each and include the likes of pork crackling with spiced apple dip, sashimi mosaic with nori wasabi and pickled ginger, and charred lamb rib topped with baba ganoush.
If you’re working with an appetite, the land, sea and grain specials might look like fish of the day swimming in yuzu beurre blanc and sea greens or coq au vin with pancetta, silver skin onions and shimeji mushroom.
Manning the open kitchen is British-born chef Adam Grimsley, whose culinary pedigree includes stints at two-Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Icebergs Dining Room & Bar and Jacksons on George.
The beverage program includes vino fetched from a climate-controlled cellar available by the glass, bottle or in half-bottle sizes, alongside must-try cocktails like The Sgroppino Affair mixing Ketel One Vodka, seasonal sorbet and prosecco.
Welcoming sippers and snackers on weekdays from 11.30am 'til 2am, Ette effortlessly flows from daytime dining to a late-night bar—perfect for knockoff drinks, impressive dinner dates and pocket-friendly nightcaps.
