The verdict

With over a decade of experience in the beauty game, Svetlana Burckhardt certainly knows her way around a pair of brows. Renowned for her magical touch with brows and eyelashes, Svetlana and her team at Eyebrow Experts should be on your radar the next time your brows need a bit of love. 

Not just known for brows, Eyebrow Experts also offer lash lifts, which help to open eyes and make your face look more awake. We headed down to this salon in Double Bay to see just what the fuss was all about. Here’s what happened…

Firstly, Svetlana sat me down for a cup of tea and talked about my needs, and if I had any past issues with treatments—which is important for her to know. Once we were all on the same page, she took me to her cosy treatment room. Lying down on the comfy bed, with a blanket for extra warmth, I felt as though I could just fall asleep for the next hour or so while she was working her magic.

Firstly she selected which level of curl my eyelashes would suit best, and then it was down to business. My eyelashes were glued to the curler with the precision of a surgeon, and after the curling solution was applied I was left to chill out for about 20 minutes. After this time, a setting solution was added to keep the curl in place. Another 20 minutes of relaxing, and an eye bath (to wash off all the chemicals), and I was ready to look at the mirror and bat my lashes. 

What a difference! This is what people who are genetically blessed with curly eyelashes must experience on the daily. My lashes were naturally curled and really made a difference to my whole face. I looked more awake, happier, and ready to conquer the world (even though I nearly fell asleep multiple times on the treatment bed). Svetlana warned to not get water on my AMAZING lashes for 24 hours and that was it… We were done! Needless to say, I am hooked and will be going back every eight or so weeks to get these bad boys tended to.

Beyond brows and lashes, she also offers a seven-minute Brazilian wax, which could quite possibly be the fastest in Sydney. The speed, coupled with great care means you’ll be in and out and hair-free in under ten minutes, and when it comes to waxing, isn’t that what we all really want?
