The Verdict

This charming Sydney cafe is a dream come true for both Newtown locals and the friends who started it. The blackboard wall showcases the ever-changing works of art on the menu, crafted by a head chef who has honed his craft at many of Sydney's most loved institutions. The pies are all made from scratch (yes, even the pastry and tomato sauce), and you know they're a winner before you even bite into them. The same buttery flaky pastry features on the quiche for an experience you will be dreaming about for days. For more buttery goodness, the cafe also sells Brickfields croissants (further proving they have impeccable taste in pastry).

And if you've seen those giant cookies floating around on your Instagram feed, then guess what, these guys make them fresh, every day. For only $8 a pop, pick up a sweet treat bigger than your head mixed in with M&Ms and choc chips.

On the breakfast side of things, the pancakes are shredded to soak up as much of the droolworthy sauce as possible. If you opt for something a little more savoury, you'll want to leave some room for the beautiful home made cakes, tarts and other sweet goodies too, which change regularly to keep you coming back for more. All that means you simply have to order that cherry and rhubarb lemon cheesecake, lest it disappear from your life forever more.
